A day on the Lawn

This weekend I travelled up to the Hunter Valley to see the fabulous Alicia Keyes. The concert was an outdoor extravaganza on one of the wineries. Let’s say the combination of heavy rain the night before, intense heat on the day and unlimited amounts of wine, was not a good combination. But Ms Keyes was AMAZING!

At least my outfit was ok. I knew that the ground would be muddy after the torrential down pour on Friday so my gumboots were an absolute essential. Now being the Fashionista that I hope I am, of course I wouldn’t go for ordinary gum/wellie boots. Mine are from Melissa with a fantastic wedge heel that kept me dry. Also the weather turned really really really hot on Sat, 34 degrees C (93 degrees F) so a mini and tee were the only solutions. I added my leather jacket just in case it was chilly and I’m glad I did. It was wet and muddy still and when the sun dropped it got cold.

Today’s outfit is brought to you by: Skirt – Supre, Tee – Target, Jacket – very old, Boots – Melissa, Bangles, Bracelets & Earrings – thrifted via Ebay and Uturn, Handbag – Fendi
